Spring Break Regatta Confirmed and Other News

We’re in!  GDS will be participating in the Anacostia Invitational Regatta at the Anacostia Community Boathouse on Saturday, March 22. We will be racing two boats: a men’s varsity coxed 4 and a women’s varsity coxed 4.

Rowers should meet at the Anacostia Community Boathouse at 7:45am. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR THIS REGATTA. The coxswains meeting is at 8:00 AM, the first race at 9:00 AM, and racing will conclude by 12 noon.  Specific race times have not been posted yet, but Paul estimates the women will race by about 9:45 AM and men by about 10:45 AM.

Rowers should eat breakfast before they arrive or bring it with them, and racing will be finished before lunch. Therefore, no food will be provided at the regatta. Additionally, there will be no tent or need for parent volunteers.

Driving instructions to the Anacostia Community Boathouse are on the Directions page of hoppercrew.com.

Spring training will be held at Thompson Boat Center for those rowers who are in town on Monday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 1. Practice is tentatively scheduled to begin at 5:45 AM on those days but additional details will be available soon.
