2018 Welcome Message

Hi All,

Hope everyone had a good long weekend. A couple of important upcoming dates and other items, as the start of the season is imminent.

  1. Mandatory Pre-Season Meeting: Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at GDS in the Internet Cafe. We will hear from the coaches, talk about the season and volunteer opportunities, collect dues, answer questions and the rowers will watch the safety video. It is important that all rowers and at least one parent attend.
  2. First day of practice – Monday, February 26, 2018 at 6:15 a.m. at GDS.
  3. Please make sure your family has registered (we are trying to streamline the process of getting all information together). Here is the link for registration.
  4. We now have a live link for those of you that wish to pay crew dues with a credit card. This is for the $500 fee only. You will still need to provide a check for the $80 fee for food for regattas, and of course we will take checks for the $500 dues as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  5. The link for crew gear is live. There are a number of new items (women’s sizing for a number of items). Please place your orders through the website. We would like to get all orders placed in the next two weeks so jackets come in as soon as possible.
  6. The regatta schedule can be found here. There is also a copy of the handbook, directions to regattas and sign ups for volunteer jobs. The regattas are also listed on the GDS website under Athletics as part of the Athletics calendar.
  7. Spring Break trip to Camp Bob Cooper is March 23 through March 27th. All rowers are strongly encouraged to attend. The fee for the spring break trip is $600. Forms and payment options will be circulated shortly.
  8. The Ergathon is Thursday, March 22, 2018 at GDS.

Looking forward to seeing everyone Wednesday evening. Please contact me with questions.

With regards,

Lisa Kleine President,
